History students from Form 4 to Upper 6 embarked on an educational tour to the Parliament of Ghana on 26 October 2022. Under the auspices of the Parliamentary Training Institute, our students enjoyed an in-depth lecture entitled: The Role of the Legislature Arm of Government to the Development of Nation States.
Students were privileged to meet with the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hon. Andrew Asiamah Amoako, Hon. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo MP for Wa Central, Hon. Prince Hamidu Armah MP for Kwesimintsim, Mr. Cyril Kwabena Oteng Nsiah Clerk to Parliament’s Office, the Head of Parliamentary Training Institute and other Heads of Department of Parliament.
The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin extended a special invitation to our students, hosting them in his chambers, which was quite the honour. Rt. Hon. Bagbin encouraged them to take their studies seriously and seize the opportunity given them by their parents and the school to ensure that they, someday, contribute to the development of democracy in Ghana.
