Each year, the TRRS Graduating Class spearheads a school-wide Service Project to galvanise our school around a worthy cause and contribute positively to society before embarking on their university studies. The Class of 2024 is building on the good work of their predecessors at Dzorwulu A & B Primary School and is raising funds to provide benches and an adequate eating area for pupils. In addition, they will be supporting the kidney dialysis centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, in memory of our late Accountant, Mr. Hammond Dekagbe.
The Class of 2024 launched a term-long Holistic Health Campaign, to educate our school community on the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices to protect our physical and mental health. These include prioritising nutrition, an active lifestyle, good sleep hygiene and hydration, as well as limiting screen time.
In line with this, The Class of 2024 organised a Sponsored Walk on Saturday 17 February 2024, which brought together parents, students, staff and other members of our School Community. It was an exciting experience as participants used the opportunity to exercise while having a memorable time with friends.
After the walk, all participants assembled at the school to enjoy games and a vibrant Wellness Bazaar which showcased a variety of nutritious snacks, drinks, food stuff and services to promote healthier choices and options, including: The Mental Health Authority of Ghana, Psypro Ghana, Gold Coast Cocoa, Respect Health, Zeno’s Yoghurt Bar, Blucarrotte, Marhogany Restaurant, Mpampa Cereals, Zentos Farms, Organicthings1, Kyikyi Eyecare, Meera Bakes, and Lupel Coconut Juice. We are grateful for sponsorship received from BelAqua, Careflight Ghana, Simply Healthy and Judifoods.
Thanks to the tremendous outpouring of support, The Class of 2024 Sponsored Walk and Wellness Bazaar was a great success! It was a wonderful morning, with the whole TRRS Community coming together to choose a healthier lifestyle and support the Class of 2024 meet their fundraising goal of GHS 80, 000 toward its Graduation Service Project.
