A holisitic educational programme must include a strong foundation in technology to equip students to thrive in a fast-changing modern world. Our Computing and Computer Science curriculum begins from Reception/Early Years throughout the school and is rooted in exploration, computational thinking, programming & coding using Scratch and Python and various cross-curricular applications, with a strong focus on real-life case studies.
In addition, our budding Robotics Club meets throughout the week after school and on Saturdays, bringing young tech enthusiasts together to deepen their knowledge and skills and solve various challenges using a variety of robot kits. The Robotics Club Exhibition held on 26 June 2024, was an exciting demonstration of these skills in action!
We are proud of the exceptional performance of four members of our Robotics Club in the Robofest World Championship 2024 held in USA in May. Ayan Ashfaq (Class 5 East), Afia Akowuah (Form 1 East), Rehan Ashfaq (Form 2 Atifi), and Kwabena Akowuah (Form 3 West) each showcased their remarkable skills and demonstrated great innovation, teamwork, and technical prowess. Their hard work and dedication culminated in 4 Trophies:
Autonomous Taxi Challenge- 2 Trophies
Unknown Mission Challenge- 2Trophies
As leaders of the TRRS Robotics Club, they expressed their excitement at the opportunity to compete on a global stage and enthusiastically urge their peers to embrace the “Robotics Revolution.”
The entire TRRS community takes pride in their outstanding achievements and extends our congratulations to them!
The educational philosophy behind The Roman Ridge School programme is based on the pillars of Responsibility, Discipline, Excellence, Morality, Integrity, and Leadership.
