On Saturday 11 December 2021, our wonderful and talented students put on an exceptionally bright, colourful & vibrant production delighting our select audience with an exciting Christmas Production entitled An African Christmas Story, our first performance since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic; all Covid protocols were strictly adhered to during both morning and afternoon performances.
The production wove together performances from each of our Saturday Activity groups introduced this term including Poetry, Drama & Theatre, Singing & Choir and Traditional Drumming & Dancing.
At the heart of the show was a short play entitled The Begotten (written by Wonder Anibra), an Afrocentric rendition of the Christmas Story expertly choreographed by the Abibigromma Theatre Company from the School of Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, who beautifully incorporated Kpatsa, Kpanlogo and Adowa performances by our younger students into the programme.
In addition, we were wooed by two wonderful acapella renditions of Oh Holy Night & Mary Did You Know, soulfully delivered by our Senior School Glee Club!
A big thank you to our Staff for your energy, passion and commitment to our Saturday Activity programme and for putting together such a wonderfully successful show which was much enjoyed by all in attendance.
