TRRS Celebrates International Cultural Showcase

As part of our commemoration of United Nations Day, on Friday 25 October 2024, TRRS held an International Cultural Showcase to celebrate diversity and multiculturalism. This is a key event that celebrates the rich diversity within our school community. By sharing their unique heritage and traditions, students promote cross-cultural understanding, break down stereotypes, and build a more inclusive environment.

The entire school came together to enjoy this vibrant event as students proudly exhibited their country’s cultures and traditions, donning their traditional attires in a colourful display. There was a welcome address by the Ghanaian representatives who highlighted Ghana’s renowned reputation for tolerance, embracing multiculturalism, and the celebration of diversity. Additionally, they mentioned how eagerly they looked forward to gaining a tiny glimpse into the cultural heritage of our fellow students who hail from across continents and are proud to call Ghana home.

Students represented their various nationalities through recitals, dancing, acting, showcasing their rich cultures. There were insightful and colourful performances and presentations from: Guinea, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Bangladesh, China, Nigeria, Lebanon, Germany, England and India.

This showcase at TRRS enhances students’ public speaking and performance skills while also offering educational benefits by broadening their global perspectives and fostering language development.

We extend our gratitude to parents who took time off their busy schedules to be part of this celebration.

Truly, the celebration of diversity and multiculturalism was exciting and eye-opening.
