At The Roman Ridge School, students are assigned to one of four Houses when they join our school: Bears, Sharks, Cobras, and Hawks. Our House builds camaraderie across year groups, nurtures strong team spirit, healthy competition and a desire to excel within our student body. Throughout the year, excellence across all aspects of school life is recognised with House Points, with individual student academic & extra-curricular achievement earning points for their respective House. Achievements recognised include: The Chairman’s Bursary, Principal’s Honour Roll, Certificates of Academic Distinction, End of Year Prizes, appointments as Prefect, School Committee Member, House Captain, Sports Team Captain, ISSAG and Queen’s Commonwealth Medal winners, recipients of Special Awards and Prizes, as well as successes in both internal and external competitions.
These individual student House Points are added to points amassed by Houses during various inter-House competitions held throughout the year. House Points are then duly tallied each term before the Overall Winning House for the academic year is announced.
We are excited to announce that the Sharks have emerged as the Overall Winning House in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. Congratulations to the Sharks for an outstanding year!
The tally has begun for the current 2024/2025 Academic Year and it is fantastic to see such strong spirit and camaraderie across all the Houses. We look forward to an exciting calendar of Inter-House Competitions in 2024/2025 and rewarding the amazing achievements of our pupils with House Points in the year ahead!
